This month State Council had a busy, but exciting month of virtual events and activities. 4-H State Leadership Conference Jr. (SLC Jr.) took place October 9-10th via Zoom. Despite this event being virtual there were still fantastic, educational workshops led by Pennsylvania 4-H State Council that engaged youth to develop their problem-solving skills, the teambuilding basics, and all about organization.

Friday night was kicked off with special guests Dr. Joshua Rice, director of Pennsylvania 4-H and ice breaker activities led by Cassidy Baker, Lawrence County 4-H Educator. From sowing the seeds of success to getting loose with a virtual dance off, SLC Jr. had an energetic and engaging start.

Saturday kicked off with a team building workshop led by Jillian (President) and Audrey (VP of Operations) that truly made these 4-H'ers remember that a unified team means that together, everyone, achieves, more. After that, we traveled to a remote island with Amanda (VP of Events) and Alyssa (Reporter/Historian) to solve of mystery of who stole Alyssa's priceless rock collection. In this workshop, 4-H'ers learned problem solving and communications skills to identify the culprit. Next, we ended SLC Jr. with an organization workshop led by Sydney (VP of Internal Affairs) and Laurie (Secretary), who taught us the tips and tricks to managing and organizing tasks and schedules. In this event, the seeds of leadership were planted and sown in these young 10- 13-year-old 4-H'ers for them to build upon in order to grow tomorrow's future leaders.

State Council also had the opportunity to meet with Texas, Florida and Arkansas 4-H State Officer teams to work on an exciting opportunity for 4-H'ers. Finally, Council has been planning and preparing for an informative open house with County Commissioners across Pennsylvania.
