The Student Dissertation Committee shall be appointed within one calendar year of successful completion of candidacy examination.

The committee shall be responsible for selection and direction of the course of study to be followed by the student and for advise of thesis research. The student Dissertation Committee shall consist of a chair and at least three additional members of the graduate faculty. One member shall be selected from outside the Graduate Program in Animal Science and shall represent the minor field, if one has been selected. Selection of the committee shall be by the Director of the Graduate Program in Animal Science after recommendations by the student and academic adviser.

The student's adviser shall have consulted with the student and appropriate faculty members. Formation of the Dissertation Committee occurs after the student passes the candidacy examination
