The Student Advisory Committee shall be appointed during the first semester of enrollment.

The committee shall be responsible for selection and direction of the course of study to be followed by the student and for advise of thesis research. The student Advisory Committee shall consist of a chair and at least three additional members of the graduate faculty.

One member shall be selected from outside the Graduate Program in Animal Science and shall represent the minor field, if one has been selected. Selection of the committee shall be by the chair of the Graduate Program in Animal Science after recommendations by the student and academic adviser.

The student's adviser shall have consulted with the student and appropriate faculty members. Formation of the Doctoral Committee occurs after the student passes the candidacy examination.
