Youth engage in specie specific trainings focused on various topics in animal husbandry and care.

Be the best caretaker you can be.

All youth enrolled in animal science projects are required to complete training in Quality Animal Management annually.  Trainings will follow the 4-H program year of October 1st through September 30th.  The 4-H Animal Science Working Group identifies three topics to cover each year and youth will be evaluated upon completion. The material may be taught through a variety of methods including hands-on activities, lecture, video or a combination as long as the concepts for the year are met.  It is expected that positive youth development learning be foremost in the mind of the instructor regardless of whether it is delivered by educator or volunteer.  Contact your County Educator for more information.
