There are a variety of educational camps and conferences that provide youth the opportunity to further supplement their animal science project experiences. Animal Science Camp

Pennsylvania 4-H Animal Science Camp features hands-on workshops for 4-H youth members age 13-18. Delivered by Penn State Extension specialists, College of Agricultural Sciences faculty and staff, and industry experts, the event is broken down into three track options: dairy/equine/livestock. Workshops focus on the science behind raising animals.

Dairy Days

This event is designed to educate youth in a variety of production and herd management subjects as well as good production practices of the dairy industry. 

Poultry 101

Penn State poultry faculty and other experts present advanced poultry topics and practical hands-on learning experiences in Poultry 101. The program is for all youth 12 years of age and older and adults who enjoy learning and teaching youth about poultry.

Carolyn Blum Memorial Service Award

The Penn State Department of Animal Science Youth Program is looking to recognize adults who have given outstanding service to youth poultry programs in Pennsylvania with the Carolyn Blum Memorial Service Award. This annual award will be presented at the next Youth Poultry 101 Conference. This award was named in Carolyn Blum's memory after her unexpected passing in 2013.
