Ana Fonseca holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Federal University of Uberlândia - Brazil (2011–2017), with a sandwich program at Kansas State University (USA) through the Science Without Borders Program (2013–2014). During her undergraduate program as a scientific initiation scholarship recipient, Ana conducted research on the Moringa Oleifera tree and its antimicrobial activities against E. coli, as well as research on Salmonella Pullorum and Gallinarum isolates from poultry farms among different states of Brazil. Ana also did an internship at Brazil Foods (BRF) with the veterinarian extensionists, focusing on the production and management of poultry and swine around Minas Gerais in Brazil (2017). After her internship, Ana worked at Agrifirm in Belgium as a junior researcher in the R&D group, developing nutritional approaches targeting intestinal health of monogastric animals (2017–2020). Currently, Ana is a Dual-title Ph.D. student at Pennsylvania State University in Animal Science and Microbiome Sciences, where she also earned her Master's degree in Animal Science, exploring the temporal dynamics of the microbiota and performance of broiler chickens fed different diets.
