4-H Science projects allow youth to observe, identify, describe, and experience in a hands-on learning environment with age-appropriate activities designed to help youth learn about life.

A world of opportunities awaits you.

4-H Science projects allow youth to observe, identify, describe, and experience in a hands-on learning environment with age-appropriate activities designed to help youth learn about life. Projects include agriculture, aerospace, environmental, and much more!

4-H Aerospace Projects

Youth begin their study of rockets through a variety of hands-on experiences. At the end of the project, participants build and launch their own 2-liter bottle rockets. In the advanced series, youth will build an Estes-type rocket. Build kits and launch with a low power engine and a high-power engine. Learn how to find altitude, fire circuit operation, and learn rocket parts and engine structure. Then, exhibit your rocket and completed project book at Roundup.

Learn about:

  • Rockets
  • Engine Structure
  • Altitude
  • Electricity
  • Velocity

Participant outcomes:

  • This curriculum provides a working knowledge of fundamentals to solve engineering problems and address society’s needs in aerospace and related areas.

Youth interested in aerospace can explore careers like:

  • Aerospace engineering
  • Mechanical engineering
  • Data processing
  • Coding
  • Mission or Payload
  • Aviation

Projects:

  • Aerospace Level 1 Pre-Flight
  • Aerospace Level 2 Lift Off
  • Aerospace Level 3 Reaching New Heights
  • Aerospace Level 4 Pilot in Command
