The Engineering Design Challenge is a program for youth to design, build, and run a Rube Goldberg style machine. As youth build their machines, they transfer life skills learned to current and future experiences by problem solving and applying the engineering design process to everyday life.

The Engineering Design Challenge is a program for youth to design, build, and run a Rube Goldberg style machine while learning about and working through the engineering design process.  The Challenge fosters critical thinking, creativity, innovation and problem-solving in this non-traditional learning event. As youth build their machines, they transfer life skills learned to current and future experiences by problem solving and applying the engineering design process to everyday life.  Participants also have the opportunity to explore engineering careers, safety and design.
