Health for Better Living

Members will learn how to keep fit, increase brain power and express and learn about themselves in positive ways. 

Youth who participate in 4-H Health projects develop life skills that include healthy living, caring for others, responsibility, teamwork, community service, a positive attitude, critical thinking, problem solving and a sense of self-worth.

Learn about:

  • First Aid
  • Healthy Decision Making
  • Stress Management
  • Positive Choices

Participant outcomes:

  • Members will learn how to care for others with basic first aid.
  • Members will explore the physical and health effects of vaping.
  • This project will assist youth in identifying positive and negative role models in their lives.
  • Members will learn the connection between self-confidence and self-control.
  • Members will understand how to handle pressure so they can stay focused on their goals.

Youth interested in Health can explore careers like:

  • First Responders
  • Health/Medical Professionals
  • Counselors

Projects:

  • First Aid/Health-Members will learn how to keep fit, increase brain power and express and learn about themselves in positive ways.  The projects also help the member learn how to handle emergency situations. 
  • Health Rocks- A healthy living program designed for youth to learn behavior effects of drugs, health consequences of drug use, decision making, managing stress and stress relief, family, peer, media, and technology influence, and resisting risky behaviors Health Rocks is FUN!

Cloverbud Health Opportunities

Youth between 5 and 7 can participate in our 4-H Cloverbud program! This non-competitive program introduces young children to the world of Health while focusing on fundamentals.
