About the Cooking Challenge

Junior and Senior individuals and Junior and Senior teams are invited to show off their cooking skills in this challenge! The individual or team must apply their creativity, knowledge of nutrition, food preparation, food safety, and leadership skills to prepare a recipe using a secret ingredient along with ingredients from their food pantry – then make a presentation about the prepared dish to a panel of judges. The presentation should include information about the nutritional value, serving size, food preparation skills and decision making used to prepare the recipe and plate the food. Wining individuals and teams will advance to the National 4-H Cooking Challenge.
