Request a State Council Member (form)

State Council members are expected to attend five local events during their term. Invite them to your event for the following topics:

Icebreakers
Are you a small group just getting to know each other? Do you want to kick off an event in a fun way? State Council will offer a variety of "get to know you" activities to help break the ice. Please add how much time you would like us to fill in the "further event details" field. Time adaptable.

Officer Training Workshop
You’ve just been elected by your fellow club members to be an officer in your club. Congratulations! As you’re meeting with your officer team to plan out the year ahead, you are identifying some of the tools you need for each officer and the team itself. Your mission: Find what makes your officer team successful! Join State Council for this exploration of the Pennsylvania 4-H officer books and some puzzling fun along the way! This session will last about 1 hour and requires a laptop/projector be provided.

Officer Training + Teambuilding & Goal Setting Workshop
The above session, plus some time for your group to participate in some teambuilding and guided team/club goal-setting time. The full presentation is 1.5 - 2 hours in length. Please add how much time you would like us to fill in the "further event details" field.

Teambuilding Workshop
State Council will share some activities that build purposeful connections amongst team/club members. If you have specific content you would like covered (problem-solving, conflict) or timeframe for us to fill, please add more information in the "Further event details" field. Time adaptable.

Goal Setting Workshop
In this workshop, 4-H members learn how setting SMART goals can benefit them personally, but also guide team/club work. The session covers forming a goal statement and, once the work has been done, how to reflect on the goal. 45 minutes, request extra time if you would like work time for your group to set a goal.

4-H Opportunities Presentation
State Council members will discuss the various levels of participation available to 4-H'ers in Pennsylvania. This is time adaptable; please include in the "further event details" section below how much time you would like us to spend and if there are any particular areas you want us to cover (state event, national event, County Council / State Council / SPA, etc).

Keynote Address
State Council members have prepared a 5-minute address about the ways that 4-H has impacted them. This is suitable for recognition banquets and many other situations

Award Distribution
State Council members will assist with presenting and / or handing out awards. I they will be presenting, please provide a script or background about the award.

Photo Opportunity
State Council membes will be available for photos with award winners, etc.

4-H Promotional Table
We will staff a table and answer questions about 4-H. With enough notice, we can provide brochures and other handouts. We request that you provide table/chairs as necessary.
