Start a new club

4-H is all about exploration! If you do not see a project or a club that looks like the right fit, you can start a new club.

4-H Clubs require:

  • At least 5 youth (from at least two families)
  • An adult club leader as point of contact with the 4-H Educator
  • A minimum of 2 screened adult volunteers
  • Hold regular educational meetings

Clubs

Mifflin County 4-H Clubs are organized as Animal Science Clubs, Shooting Sports, Community Clubs and Teen Council. Please be sure to check the events schedule for monthly meeting updates.

Animal Science Clubs

Animal Science clubs allow members the opportunity for education and hands-on learning with Equine, Cavy, Rabbits, Dog Training, Dairy Cows, Beef Steers, Dairy Feeder Calves, Pigs, Goats, Poulty and Lambs. Some clubs offer cloverbud programs to children aged 5-7 to take part in. Some clubs do not require ownership or animals prior to joining the club. Shooting Sports Clubs

Mifflin County 4-H offers the opportunity for members to join clubs that offers experience in learning all disciplines in shooting sports including Archery, Riflery, .22 Rifle, Muzzleoader, Air Pistol and Shotgun. All clubs are taught and supervised by trained Shooting Sports instructors. Prior experience and ownership of bow or firearm is not required. Opportunity for state and national shooting sports competition is available.

Cloverbud Clubs

Traditional 4-H age is the child’s age as of January 1st, 8-18 years old. A cloverbud club allows a child ages 5-7 as of January 1st to begin their 4-H journey early and receive some non-competitive hands on opportunities in various of projects.

Teen Council

Comprised of teens ages 13-19 years old who belong to a Mifflin County 4-H club(s), Teen Council members seek to learn and practice leadership skills while completing service learning. Teens plan and organize county wide events and celebrations for the entire 4-H community.

Community Clubs

Activities and projects include community service, cooking, baking, and hands-on crafts. Here is a list of projects that have been completed in the past. Contact the extension office for more information.
