The Nutrient Management Program has updated the Nutrient Management Plan (NMP) Spreadsheet to Version 8.2. Several updates were added to resolve identified issues and provide additional information. If a planner experience any of the issues, then they must use NMP Version 8.2.

Highlights of these updates include:

P Index Part B Fields
The P Index evaluation formula result was updated when a manure application rate of zero is entered.  Previously, a field with a P Index score over 80 would give you an error message "P removal rate exceeded" when no manure was applied. This applies to Appendix 4 Input and Printout pages as well as the P Index printout.

Rainfall Additions Calculator
The rainfall additions calculator was updated to show an alert when the rainfall is not calculated when any of the criteria are missing such as County, Manure Storage Evaporation or No Evaporation, Beginning Month, Ending Month, or Storage Surface Area.

Grazing Calculator
The animal group hours per day on pasture is now automatically transferred from Appendix 3.

The grazing calculator was updated to report Animal Days on pasture days versus Days on pasture. Previously when an animal group was split out on different pastures the days on pasture would be incorrectly reported.

The standard format Excel file: NMP Version 8.2 2023-01 (2007-2019 Excel) is now available on the Nutrient Management Website under planning tools.
