NBS Version 5.0 Released

NBS Excel Version 5.0 – October 2019 and NBS Word Version 5.0 – October 2019 have been released by the Act 38 Pennsylvania Nutrient Management Program. Version 5.0 includes several significant updates which are reflected in a version change from 4.0 to 5.0.

NMP Version 7.0 Released

NMP Excel Version 7.0 – October 2019 and NMP Word Version 7.0 – October 2019 have been released by the Act 38 Pennsylvania Nutrient Management Program. Version 7.0 includes several significant updates which are reflected in a version change from 6.0 to 7.0.

Nutrient Management Tech Manual Version 11 Released

Version 11 of the Pennsylvania Act 38 Nutrient Management Program Technical Manual has been approved by the State Conservation Commission and has been made available on the Pennsylvania Nutrient Management Program website. The official release date is October 2019.

Evolving Biosecurity in the Swine Industry

Some swine farms are now asking that non-essential personnel such as plan writers, reviewers and conservation district personnel have up to 7 days of downtime between visitations of swine farms. The purpose of this article is to increase understanding on why biosecurity practices in the swine industry are becoming more stringent and to provide some basic biosecurity reminders.
