Elections and recognition of outstanding members took place virtually as a result of Covid-19, with students having returned to their homes.

Though hampered by the closing of the University and the need for social distancing due to Covid-19, members of Penn State's Poultry Science Club held its election for next year's officers and recognized this year's outstanding members.

Officers elected to lead the club for the 2020-2021 academic year were:

* President, Samantha Shirk, East Earl, PA

* Vice-President, Lindsey Bright, Quakerstown, PA

* Secretary, Brooke Kline, Newport, PA

* Treasurer, Sophia Bianchi, Newport, PA

Ethan Metzler, Pequea, PA was recognized for his services as president for the 2019-2020 school year.

Matthew Eyre and Larry Eyre, Northampton, PA were selected by club members as 2020's Most Active New Club Member and 2020 Most Active Club Member, respectively.

Luke Trimble, Allison Park, PA was recognized for having the highest GPA of any club member enrolled in the poultry and avian science minor.

The elections took place virtually as students are scattered among their homes at the conclusion of this academic year.

Committee Chairs for the upcoming year were also elected and include:

* Community Service Committee Chair - Haley Sweitzer, Wellsville, PA

* Fund Raising Committee Chair - Matthew Eyre

* Public Relations Committee Co-Chairs - Madison Over, Woodbury, PA and Morgan Watt, Ashville, PA

* Scrap Book and Awards Committee Chair - Morgan Watt

* Social Banquet Committee Co-Chairs - Madison Over and Sara Alexander, Liberty, PA

* Ag Student County Representative, Morgan Watt

The Penn State Poultry Science Club promotes the study of the avian species and enhances members' understanding of the poultry industry. The Club has been named the National "Club of the Year" at the US Poultry College Program six of the past fifteen years in Atlanta. The Poultry Science Club, with around 30 members, is one of the most active clubs in the College of Agricultural Sciences at Penn State.
