Webinar Series and Workshop for QuickBooks Software

Posted: December 10, 2014

Penn State Extension Dairy Team is hosting a series of webinars teaching agricultural accounting principles using QuickBooks software.

The Penn State Extension Dairy Team is offering a series of webinars to teach agricultural accounting principles using QuickBooks software designed to help producers learn to manage their farm business at home with simple, easy to follow learning modules. These modules are paired with live webinars to review the topics and run through examples and questions from each module.  These module and webinar sessions will be followed with the opportunity for a full day hands-on workshop. The two options are independent, but complementary, for those wanting to optimize their QuickBooks software.

The webinars are being offered on January 5, 12, 19 and February 2 and 9, 2015, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Modules will be release 1 week prior to the webinar.  Registration deadline is Jan. 4.  Cost for the series is $75.

They offer learning at home with simple, easy to follow learning modules and use an example farm operation to apply the theories. Participants have the opportunity to ask specific questions as they learn to identify proper chart of accounts, the importance of bills, sales receipts, and invoices, and generating reports.

Detailed agendas can be found at http://www.cvent.com/events/using-quickbooks-to-manage-your-farm-business/agenda.

This webinar series qualifies for 1 SmartStart credit for every 2 webinars from AgChoice Farm Credit.

The one day, hands-on training, "Extracting Information from QuickBooks Data," will be a computer lab session that will guide participants through extracting valuable farm and business information from electronic financial systems like QuickBooks. Topics will include: inventories, income statements from cash based reports, payroll, and managing records for financial and tax-based needs. There will be ample opportunity to discuss participant-identified hot topics.

Cost for the one day training is $75 for the first registrant; $50 for a guest from the same farm.  Participants of the webinar series will receive $25 off the "Extracting Information from QuickBooks Data" program, and registrants for the one-day training will receive $25 off the webinar series.
