Dr. Alex Hristov, Professor of Dairy Nutrition in Penn State's Department of Animal Science, was one of two animal scientists attending a forum in Washington, D.C. organized by the World Bank to discuss the recently released Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Working Group III report. The other animal scientist attending was Harry Clark, Director of the New Zealand Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Research Center and a lead IPCC author. At the forum, leading scientists, practitioners and financiers identified actionable opportunities for reducing agricultural greenhouse gas emissions and increasing farmers' food security and resilience to climate change. The forum was followed by a working meeting for project implementers, technical experts and policy makers facilitated by Lini Wollenberg of the Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security."
