White Named Marketing Manager for Penn State Extension Dairy Team

Rebecca White has been named the new Marketing Manager for Penn State's Extension Dairy Team. A well-known name with Pennsylvania dairy farmers and industry leaders, White has been with the Team since March 2010, working to increase dairy profitability. She helped in the development of the Profitability Assessment Dairy Tool and the PSU DairyCents mobile app, both popular tools available free of charge online.
She received her B.S. degree in animal science from the University of Massachusetts and her M.S. degree from the University of New Hampshire in dairy calf nutrition and health. Her work in agricultural economics began in 2004 in her role as the National Feed Management Program Coordinator at Washington State University where she developed tools to assess the economics of feed and manure management for dairy, beef, swine and poultry operations.
She has worked throughout Pennsylvania conducting educational and hands-on workshops for dairy operators and agribusiness professionals.
Dr. Terry Etherton, Head of the Department of Animal Science, said, "I am elated that Rebecca has assumed this position. She is widely recognized in Pennsylvania for her expertise and many important contributions to the Penn State Dairy Team. Rebecca will be terrific in her new duties.
In her new role, White will manage the overall program development and marketing for the Extension Dairy team while continuing to work with extension educational programs. She will expand current marketing and communication efforts, focusing on social media and website design.
