Fall Classic Features Calf to Benefit Dairy Challenge

The Nittany Lion Fall Classic on November 10 will feature a calf to benefit the Penn State Dairy Challenge Team fund.

The Nittany Lion Fall Classic on November 10 will feature a calf to benefit the Penn State Dairy Challenge Team fund.   Lot 1 of the Fall Classic is an exciting young May 2012 Genervations Epic daughter with a GTPI of +2190 from Roylane Socra Mira, an 86-point Socrates daughter who has a record of 25,600 at age 2-3; the next dam is an 86-point Oman daughter.  

Proceeds from the sale of this calf will be donated to the Penn State Dairy Challenge endowment.  Anyone interested in joining a syndicate to purchase this calf to support the program should contact Dr. Lisa Holden no later than November 9 to be included   by calling 814-863-3672 or by emailing her at lah7@psu.edu

The Dairy Challenge program has been influential in helping past and current students gain skills in decision-making, farm analysis, and communications skills.  Currently coached by Dr. Gabriella Varga and Dr.  Holden,  Penn State‚Äôs teams have earned platinum honors at the North American Intercollegiate Dairy Challenge four of the past six years.  The Dairy Challenge fund supports travel for the Penn State team.
