Dairy Digest Available in Alternative Formats
Posted: March 1, 2004
Up to this time, readers of Dairy Digest have received their latest editions by mail, or have downloaded an Adobe PDF document on the Web. But starting with the January 2004 edition, Dairy Digest is offered in 3 additional formats: a standard HTML edition (for Internet Explorer, Netscape and other browsers for desktop and laptop computers), a small HTML edition for wireless Palm and WindowsCE mobile handheld computers, and as an XML/RSS feed for news syndication and users of RSS readers.
The HTML format is good news for those of us with slow modem connections for web access; the download time of the HTML document is much faster than for the PDF version. Furthermore, HTML documents are easier to copy-and-paste for posting articles to other media. And this document format has also been optimized for print quality.
Download your copy of Dairy Digest in any format you prefer the same way as you have downloaded the PDF version in the past - either by using the link on our home page (www.das.psu.edu) or by typing the direct link into your browser (www.das.psu.edu/dairydigest) and selecting the format. There is also a link to learn more about the XML/RSS news feed and using RSS readers. Please send your questions and comments to Christian Vinten-Johansen (firstname.lastname@example.org).
