Some background on Dengpan: Dr. Bu is principle investigator and leader for more than 10 national level projects funded by China Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and Ministry of Agricultural (MOA). He is the Director of the China-Ireland Dairy Science and Technology Center and was an organizer of the International Symposium on Dairy Cow Nutrition and Milk Quality. Dr. Bu has 4 patents, published 1 book and more than 100 research papers, and was the innovation talent of science and technology of MOST in 2014.

Dengpan’s leadership has given him 3 goals: 1) Reduce calving interval, 2) Reduce the prevalence of infectious disease, and 3) Improve Milk Quality. Dengpan also is interested in reducing the use of unnecessary antibiotics.

Dr. Bu elected to visit PSU after attending the annual ADSA meeting in Pittsburgh. Because of the Department’s strong focus on dairy science, we have an opportunity to provide expertise to the evolving Chinese Dairy Industry. One of many evaluations of the Chinese Dairy Industry is provided below.
